HRM Dr. Etim Okon Edet is a graduate of Business, Public Administration and Law respectively from the University of Calabar and the Nigerian Law School. He is the King of  Bakassi. He is a former Local Government Chairman of Bakassi Local Government Area; he was onetime awarded the best Chairman Award and won several other awards during his tenure.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators, and the Founder of the Law Firm of Etim Okon Edet & Co. - Legal Practitioners & Arbitrators.

As King of Bakassi, he was sworn-in as Chairman of the Cross River State (CRS) Traditional Rulers Council and held the office for over 16 years. He is married with Children; and he enjoys listening to classical music.
